Description

Join us for a dynamic continuing education workshop tailored for court-appointed professionals seeking to enhance their understanding and efficacy in working with dually involved youth (DIY). Developed by the Center for Juvenile Justice Reform (CJJR) in 2010, the Crossover Youth Practice Model (CYPM) offers a comprehensive framework to address the unique needs of youth traversing between the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.

Through this workshop, attendees will delve into the fundamentals of the CYPM, gaining insights into its implementation and its pivotal role in supporting DIY. The research underscores the correlation between childhood maltreatment and delinquent behaviors, amplifying the significance of intervention strategies catered to this vulnerable demographic.

The workshop will explore the multifaceted roles of various professionals involved in the CYPM, equipping attendees with a nuanced understanding of collaborative approaches essential for effective intervention. Real-life case studies will be examined, providing tangible examples of CYPM implementation and showcasing measurable outcomes.

By the workshop's conclusion, participants will emerge equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complexities of working with crossover youth, empowering them to make a meaningful impact within their professional spheres.
